Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Africa Brand Health Index ("AFBHI") platform. By accessing or using AFBHI, you agree to comply with this policy.

2. Prohibited Uses

2.1 Misuse of Brand Data

You may NOT:

  • Use AFBHI data to defame, harass, or disparage any brand or company
  • Make false or misleading claims about brands based on BHI scores
  • Use data to create fake reviews or manipulate search results
  • Misrepresent BHI scores as AFBHI's editorial opinion or endorsement
  • Claim affiliation with or endorsement by analyzed brands

2.2 Financial & Investment Restrictions

You may NOT:

  • Use BHI scores as the sole basis for investment decisions
  • Represent AFBHI as a registered investment advisor or financial service
  • Redistribute BHI scores as financial research or stock recommendations
  • Create derivative financial products based solely on BHI data

2.3 Technical Restrictions

You may NOT:

  • Scrape, crawl, or automatically extract data from AFBHI
  • Reverse engineer our sentiment analysis algorithms
  • Circumvent API rate limits or authentication
  • Use bots or automated tools to access the platform (except via official API)
  • Overload our servers or conduct denial-of-service attacks
  • Attempt to hack, compromise, or gain unauthorized access to our systems

2.4 Data Redistribution

You may NOT:

  • Resell or sublicense AFBHI data without written permission
  • Publish BHI scores in bulk or create competing databases
  • Share your API key with third parties
  • Use data to train competing AI models or sentiment analysis tools

2.5 Illegal Activities

You may NOT:

  • Use AFBHI for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
  • Facilitate fraud, market manipulation, or insider trading
  • Violate intellectual property rights of brands or AFBHI
  • Transmit malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Impersonate other users or entities

3. Acceptable Uses

You MAY use AFBHI data for:

  • Internal business research and competitive analysis
  • Academic research and journalism (with proper attribution)
  • Monitoring your own brand's reputation
  • Creating reports for your organization or clients (not for resale)
  • Educational purposes and case studies

Attribution Required: When publishing or sharing AFBHI data publicly, you must cite "Source: Africa Brand Health Index (AFBHI)" and link to https://afbhi.co.ke

4. User Responsibilities

  • Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials and API keys
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction
  • Use the platform in good faith and for legitimate purposes
  • Report bugs, vulnerabilities, or inappropriate content to security@afbhi.co.ke

5. Enforcement

Violation of this AUP may result in:

  • Warning notification
  • Temporary suspension of your account
  • Permanent termination of your account without refund
  • Legal action for damages
  • Reporting to law enforcement authorities (for illegal activities)

If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to:

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. Continued use of AFBHI after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. Material changes will be notified via email.
